Soakin' Up Some Cali Sun!

When we left North Dakota, it was -20 degrees outside--Needless to say, I was MORE than excited to have some warm weather to soak up the sun!! We always forget why we don't just spend the whole vacation sitting at the pool and the beach--that really is the best part of vacation!  The first few days in Cali, we stayed in Oceanside.  It is BEAUTIFUL and just a short walk from the beach!
Aiden especially likes this resort because of the "Kiddy Pool."  It is a pool that is only 1 ft deep, so the kids can play without much assistance!  Aiden thinks he is so big when he can swim without his swimmers!

This is why I LOVE the beach!  Aiden runs, and runs and runs and loves to collect shells and build mountains in the sand!

Adylin may be all girl--but this girly girl likes dirt!  We learned at the lake in North Dakota, that this little princess will play in the dirt and sand all day!  She was in heaven looking around at all the messy stuff to play in!  She was more than content to just sit and play!
Daddy also introduced Miss Adylin to the ocean!  She is my little water baby and she loved watching the waves come in and tickle her feet! She would squeal and giggle and then wait for another wave!

Under the pier, there were some big rocks where people were "crabbing." There were a few older ladies catching bucket full after bucket full!  We were able to catch one!

Remember when I mentioned that we LOVE taking Grandma and Grandpa on vacation with us??  Well--another reason we like bringing them is that they like to watch our kiddos while David and I get some alone time!

We got to take a walk along the beach just the two of us!  We walked down along the peir and we saw these sea-lions hanging out in the water!  Every once in a while they would pop their heads up!

Walking and watching the sun-set at the beach--the best day of vacation!!
