Jesus wants me for a SUNBEAM!

For a few weeks, Aiden has been leaving nursery and going to primary for singing time, getting a little practice for being a big sunbeam! Today was his first official day as a sunbeam, and yes, I am the crazy mother that took her camera to church! I got a few crazy looks, and a few people said how they wished they had thought of that!

Aiden lined right up under the sunbeam sign, and then when he realized that this line wasn't headed to the nursery, he insisted that I go with him!

As we were walking down the stairs to go to the primary room, Aiden said, "Mom, don't we need Carwa?" Carla was Aidens nursery leader who would walk the kids down to singing time for practice! He was a bit uneasy when I told him that Carla wasn't going to be coming to primary, just Aiden and a few of the kids from nursery. Aiden is actually the youngest in his class, by about 6 months, but....he was the most brave little sunbeam there! The music leader said that he raised his hand to volunteer, even though he didn't know the songs!
Aidens cousins stayed the weekend with us, so they were all in primary with him, which I think helped with his confidence! :)

Like I said, I was the crazy mom, hiding in the hallways snapping pictures as he went to class! He loves his new teacher, and insisted on walking her to class!

I was so very proud of him today! I did manage to make it through all of church without bursting into tears.....that happened the first time he went to "practice primary!" As soon as I got home though, the water works turned on! What can I say.....I am weak!

After church, as we were driving home, I asked Aiden what he learned in primary today, he said, "Noffing!" ................Baby steps..............

Dewey is also a Sunbeam, although he is the oldest in his class. Sean and I snuck into primary and watched him for a little while. I guess it gets a little easier with your second. Cute pictures!! Aiden looks very handsome!!

I love that you documented it, and I'm a bit envious that you guys only have 4 sunbeams. I'm primary secretary and we have 29 this year. Stressful to say the least, and our primary is HUGE.
He looks so handsome in his vest and tie and I'm glad he did great!

He was dressed very nice for his first day as a sunbeam. Very cute! I am glad he did good. We had to sit with the twins for a couple of months, it took them a long time to get use to no toys! How exciting for him!
