About a month ago, I got Aiden all dressed to go to town and he started to cry and said that his shoes hurt his feet. 5 minutes later, he was running and playing around, so I figured all was well! The next time I put these specific shoes on, it was the same story! I refused to believe that he could have grown out of his shoes! Call it lazy, or denial or the fact that I HATE buying shoes in crappy, wet, Idaho spring weather! Monday was our shoe shopping day. I had every intention of finding out that Aiden had grown a little, but I wasn't prepared for this! He had been walking around in a size 5 1/2 and he measured an......8!!!! I felt so terrible! There was no way that he had grown that much over the winter!! I had the lady come and check my measurments and sure enough, he needed a size 8!
The shoe on the left is the new shoe.....the shoe on the right is what I have been cramming my kids foot into for the last month!! His new shoes are a little too big....so in all fairness, its not quite as bad as it looks!
After shoe shopping, we went to Walmart and got some groceries and while waiting in line to pay, the lady behind us commented on Aidens new shoes. He said, "They are new! My other ones hurt me for a long time!" I could have died! Ok, so I don't get the mother of the year award for that one! Next time I guess!

Oh no! That's a big difference! If you would have told me that he actually was in a 5 1/2, I'd be pretty surprised to see a 3 year old wearing that size. I think Rowan is in a 9 right now, about ready to go to a 10. Live and learn, right? His new shoes are so cute!
hmmmmmm.... maybe this is why Wren tells me no no everytime I put her shoes on and then just sits down and says owie owie!!! Guess its time for a little shoe shopping here also!
