This morning as I was sitting here reading through some blogs, I came across a very amazing post on my friend Shayna's blog. Shayna's blog always inspires me in some way or another, and today was no different. Shayna had come across a blog through some girls that she works with, and it is a truely amazing story.
The family, the Waites, had recently lost their little girl when she drowned in their hot tub. I will not discount the story by trying to re-tell it, but as I sat reading this blog, tears streaming down my face, I realized just how precious life is.
As I read her story, she mentioned that they had gone to church, and how much she missed holding her squirming, nap deprived baby. That hit me like a ton of bricks! Every Sunday it seems that I am wrestling my tired, nap deprived litte guy during sacrament meeting, and thinking to myself how I wish he would just sit through a meeting! Now as I sit here and think about that, I remember that someday, I could very well miss his little squeals that seem to make everyone turn and smirk, as if they miss there own little ones.
This last Sunday was a day that I could re-play over and over. It was 5th Sunday, so everyone was combined. Aiden and David had some how ended up in the back of the room, while I was stuck in the middle. Aiden was quiet through the whole meeting, until the closing prayer. At that point, he must have thought that he had something to tell Heavenly Father, because he began saying his own prayer, very loudly! Instead of being totally embarassed, I sat and listened to his little prayer of babbles, and felt closer to my Heavely Father than I ever had during a "typical" closing prayer! It made me realize how close heaven really is to him.
I am amazed by Aiden every day. He is such a miracle to us, and now, after reading such a heart breaking story, I am just that much more thankful for him in my life. Thanks Shayna! There always seems to be something in your blog that makes me take a step back, and look at my own life! I truely belive that there was a reason we met!
Really, read this blog. It is truely a remarkable story! www.adaliyscoop.blogspot.com
