Christmas....Vacation style!!

This year we decided to "run away" for Christmas!! We reserved a condominium in West Yellowstone and we invited David's mom and dad along for our little weekend!

First things first....we needed a tree! I have NEVER in my life gone and cut down an actual live Christmas tree, so this was a first for me! The boys treked in the deep snow and picked out a perfect little tree!

Aiden LOVES the snow and he was thrilled to actually have some!!

We loaded our tree and headed to our hideaway! Aiden helped Grandpa get the tree ready to decorate!!

Then we made our own decorations!! Aiden was excited to make his paper chain and I got stuck stringing fruit loops!!

We strung the lights and then let Aiden do the rest!! Our tree at home is a little fancy and Aiden doesn't usually held decorate it, so he was more than excited to do the job all by himself!

(I had to move a few things because most of the decorations ended up Aiden height!)

The tree ended up just as a little tree from the woods should!

After all of his hard work Aiden thought that is was time to go swimming!!! Another plus of running away for Christmas is the pool right at your front door!!! It is great entertainment to calm the excitment of presents!!

(This is Aiden's SUPER BOY pose!! Its a new thing he has started.....I think the snowboots and swim trunks add to the look!)

Early the next morning, Christmas Eve, Aiden woke up and wanted to play in the snow!!! He has been so excited for colder just for that reason and there just isn't snow at home!!

The boys played most of the day outside while me and the little stayed nice and cozy by the fire!

After the excitement of snow, it was time to open our traditional "first present" that we always open on Christmas Eve......

Jammies and a new snuggly blanket!!

After the kiddos were all dressed in their Christmas P.J's, Aiden left cookies out for Santa and we went to bed so that Santa could come!!

Aiden was a little concerned that Santa may not remember that we had gone to West Yellowstone for Christmas, but sure enough ..... the old guy found us!

Aiden grabbed his stocking and was super excited that Santa had remembered to fill his!

Aiden was more than willing to help his baby sister open her presents and he would show her and tell her what every one was!! He is such a good big brother!!!

Aiden only asked Santa Clause for ONE thing this year, and he was VERY specific!!! He wanted a silver car like at Aunt Rindees!! Apparently Santa wasn't able to get the EXACT same car, and Aiden was a little dissapointed!! He said, "Mom, this is not the same silver car, but I guess its is cool too!"

Santa brought lots of other presents too....ones that Aiden didn't think to ask for, so the dissapointmet of the not right car didn't last long!! He played all day with his play dough set! I was doing the breakfast dishes and I heard him say, "So many toys for one little boy!"

Miss Adylin had a fantastic day as well!! She was all smiles!! (She looks EXACTLY like Aiden did as a baby in this picture.....needless to say, I won't forget to put bows on her anymore!! ;))
