Gunner is fastly approaching the "too big to handle" stage, so we decided to get some professional help in the dog training department! He fetches and sits, and thats about all!! So, we enrolled him in "Puppy School" at PetCo. His teachers name is Kourtney, and he is sadly the only student. It is sad for him because he has no buddies, but nice for us because he gets all the training!
Last Thursday was Gunners first day of school! He was pretty excited to ride the car!
Come to find out, the first day of school for dogs, is more for the "pet parents!" I got more training then Gunner did! We learned the "sit" and "look" commands and started learning to walk on a leash! I didn't know you had to teach a dog to walk on a leash, and I figured that since Gunner is a "country" dog, that we didn't need that skill much. I was told other-wise! Gunner walks me.....and has no desire to be led anywhere! Work in progress! So, until next Thursday, we will be practicing and doing our homework of "sit," "look," and walking on a leash!

scout was SOOO bad at learning to walk on a leash! he started doing okay when we "graduated", but he is back to DRAGGING me on walks. i dont think its something we will ever master ;)
