Tuesday night, David called me on his way home from work and said that he was eating jerkey...devil food for dental work... and that he thought his crown was loose. So, yesterday morning, I called the dentist and got him in to replace the crown. Not so easy! Davids tooth had completely broken off with the crown! We decided to go ahead and just do an implant. Easy right?....Wrong again! It seems that the root of the tooth had "ankylosed" or fused to the bone, and it was next to impossible to remove. After 2 hours in the dental chair, and a "slight surgical procedure" we had the implant in and I had one sore puppy on my hands!!!
I had them call in his meds to Walmart pharmacy..in Ammon. Yet again, another wrong move on my part! I get to the pharmacy and they are backed up 45 minutes, and havn't even started to fill his meds yet.
I had left Aiden with my sister-in-law, and I decided to have the dentists office call the Walmart on the other side of town. I thought I would go and pick up Aiden, and be to Walmart just in time to breeze through the check-out line!! Wrong Again!!!
When I arrived at the other Walmart...30 minutes later...I took Aiden in with me, thinking it would be quick. He was a little fussy, and David really wasn't up for a fussy baby. I got to the pharmacy and took a huge sigh of relief. No line!!! I get to the register, and guess what! They havn't even started filling the script...and it will be another 20 minutes!!! UNBELIEVABLE!
I kindly informed the lady at the counter that the phone call to them was placed over 30 minutes ago, and that I had a very sore husband in the car! She replied with a nice..."sorry....it will be 20 minutes!" At that point I am in tears! No one in line...and it is going to be 20 minutes!!!
I thought maybe at the sight of my obvious dismay, that they just might hurry up the process. Nope...of course wrong again!! While the two women behind the counter chatted about their children dating each other...the pharmacist ate his granola bar! I was livid! After about 15 minutes, David, groggy and in alot of pain comes in to see what is taking so long! We both stood and watched them doddle for the other 5 minutes that they had alotted, and then wathched another lady calmly walk to the counter, and pick up a bag that had been sitting there for 10 minutes and said..."Sorry about that wait Mrs. Belnap...its ready now!"
At that point, my frusterated tears turned hot with anger! I kept my cool, and calmly let David pay for the meds, then decided that I would let every one I know how stupid Walmart Pharmacy is!!!
This has been my venting blog post! Sorry for the rambling.
David is feeling much better today, and even decided to venture to work! We go back in two weeks just to check things out and make sure every thing is healing well. In the mean time, he is billy-bob with no front tooth!

Sorry to hear about your horrible experience with the pharmacy at Walmart. I would be pretty upset as well. Sometimes venting through writing is the best way. I'm glad that David is feeling better and I'd love to see a picture of him with a big smile on his face showing off his missing front tooth. I'm sure Anthony would get a kick out of it. :)
I will see what I can do about getting a picture...I may have to get him asleep...Notice in ALL of the pictures I have of him...his mouth is closed! He very seldom smiles with his teeth!
I want to see a picture of Billy Bob too! I can't laugh, because I am missing one in the front as well! Implants are a great choice! Man Walmart can be a pain! We have been lucky with our new Walmart.
No waits! Good thing, because we seem to need Rx's often! I think you guys have bad luck when it comes to that. I remember when you were here, we had a hard time getting one filled for David! I hope he feels better soon!!
Which tooth is it? Is it that canine that he had the root canal on a couple of years ago? Who did the implant? That totally sucks that it was ankylosed. What a day for David! So does he have to go through the whole long drawn out implant process? I heard from one of our patients that Dr Hicks has some new kind of implant that you can have a tooth on it in 3 weeks. Anyway, hopefully David will recover quickly. I can't even imagine the pain!!
Ouch - sounds painful. Implants are no walk in the park either. I've had one on one of my back teeth and it's a long painful process. He will be glad that he had it done in the long run though.
So sorry about your experience at Walmart, I've had more and more bad experiences there. I'm sure you will never be visiting their pharmacy again. What a day! Hope David gets feeling better soon!
I hat that! ARGH!! I went to the pharmacy right after I got discharged from the hospital for my blood pressure medications and pain pills.. Yes, I had a sore bottom and was so tired and I waited there for 1/2 hours. Oh and one time I tried calling to place my order in advance and was told that was a big no no. You just can't win can you! Poor David
