I finished a "To Do!"

Hi guys! Hey, I have to share my exciting news! I have actually finished a craft project! Lately, well, since Aiden was born, I have had a hard time finishing projects that I start. I have been so pre-occupied with him. Really, it isn't his fault, most of the time, I just sit and play with him instead of doing anything else. I really should learn to divide my time better, but being a mom is pretty fun! Anyway, back to my project. This little, no, big project has been on my "To Do" list for a very long time, and just this week, I put the finishing touches on it. Some of you may recognise this desk. It used to be in Davids room when he was a kid. It was a brown color, and its most recent color before the transformation, was brown with white globs of plaster, and a few paint spills! (It has been in the basement during the finish process, so needless to say, it got pretty beat up!) But, with a little TLC, and some much needed "crafty" time, I have transformed it into one of my favorite pieces of furniture. It took me all of a day, and a little of the next, but I think it turned out nicely! David even thought it was cool, so I must not have done too bad!

Melissa, I remember that desk! You did a great job, I like the deep brown. So, did you paint it or is that stain? Anyway, it looks awesome.

I actually used black paint and then did an antique finish on it! Basically I painted it and then sanded the paint off! Funny what you do to make things look new, but at the same time old!
