It has been so long since I have sat down and actually read all my past blogging entrys. Today, I took a little time to just look back, and I can hardly believe how quickly things change. It has been a while since I have done an "Aiden Update" so here goes!
Aiden is now 2...and is flexing his two year old muscles on just about everything! He wants to be his own person, and I have to let him do that. It is a stuggle for me to let him grow up, although, I know that is inevitable!
He LOVES nursery, always has, but now he has his Todd buddy and he looks forward to Sunday so he can "pay wif Todd." Todd and his wife Carla have been friends of ours since we moved into the ward, and now they are the nursery leaders!
He is talking up a storm now, and words that use to be so hard to understand are now very clear. Instead of saying "Mammy"... he says "Dra-ma." He says "pweeze"when he wants somethimg and "tank you" when he gets it, and he is starting to put things into sentences, although, he doesn't always get words in the right order. Today he said to me. "Mom, that ball....trow to it me!" I love to listen to how he puts words together!!
His favorite toy right now is Thomas the Tank Engine, and his friend Rosie. Aiden loves watching them go around on their track....and likes to tell us when the "battewies" are going low. His favorite TV shows are of course, Thomas, Bob the Builder, and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Aiden now sleeps in a big boy bed, and has never slept better! He likes that he can get out of bed in the morning and he doesn't have to wait for us to come get him. He likes that I can lay in his bed and read him Horton Hatches the Egg...which is usually the book that he chooses for story time.
Aiden LOVES Grandpa Doug. For some reason the two of them have a special bond. When Grandpa is in the room, Aiden is with him. The other night as Aiden went to bed, he said "Mom...talk Dra-pa pone." We had to call and let him talk before he would go to bed. Its funny how people come into your life so un-expected and just make a HUGE impact on you.
Baths are called "Bubbles", any type of drink other than juice or milk is "Root Beer", any pasta is "Noonles", funny things are "siwy", kids his age, or close to his age are "buddies", and any treat is "canny."
I have a hard time looking at Aiden and remembering that tiny little helpless baby that he once was. Time moves on, and with it, my baby turns into a little boy. All the while making me feel older and older!
